Honestly, what about this is going to kill the iPod touch? It's got a great screen and some hardcore graphics processing ability, but does it have any developers creating fun games for it, or does it have email or web access at all? How about Skype? Youtube? If all you do with your iPod touch is listen to music and watch video, then you shouldn't have an iPod touch. 1) They are rubbish outside because they're 100% emissive
2) They use more power than LCDs (don't believe the hype - it's fundamentally wrong)
3) The colour shift over time (thanks Ryan) because blue pixels die faster than the red / green ones
4) The short lifetime
5) The contrast ratio is worse than an LCD unless you are in a dark room
6) The fragility
7) No real world improvement over LCD for a higher price.

Has the screen from your iPod 5G from early 2006 been on 24/7? You must need glasses by now if it has. I was commenting on the screen life issue mainly. I don't want to have to carry multiple gadgets so I want my PMP to be my phone. I rather suspect the guts of this PMP will be based on the Samsung i8910 Omnia and Jet so will be more or less indistinguishable.

I don't have an AMOLED device yet. I love the Samsung Omnia and the Jet sounds impressive. Due to replace my phone at the end of the year so might plump for one of those. Either that, or I may wait to see if a new iPhone HD is announced in January with an AMOLED display. Either way, I'll have an AMOLED something and not worry about colour shift which may happen long after I've thrown the device away;).

Please people do not negotiate Sound Quality for...... UI or Tegra......i think that these software companies are taking you all in wrong directions........cause everything basically, for me comes to an end with mediocre or poor sound quality.


A software company can never give you a best sound quality, ........ they can only make you fool with their User interface.

Cause sound quality does not comes from UI but it comes from electronic circuit inside.....

And also manual equalizer spoils the sound quality to the extreme.

Both ipod's and zune's have .....i should say good highs and mid but they both lack the low frequencies(basses)
