iPhone playing cards use washable PVC touchscreen technology
Wanna spice up your next poker night? Meninos would love to help you out there with its deck of iPhone-inspired playing cards. They certainly look the part, as at first blush we thought we were dealing with an app, and are novel enough to appeal even to our cold and cynical souls. Another shot lies after the break, and you can grab your own deck for $25 through the read link.

Stupid.
$20 too much.
Best idea ever.
What they don't tell you is that you can only play solitaire with these cards.
Because I can't imagine how you could possibly have any friends if you're actually willing to buy these cards.
best idea never.
(looks around for water ski ramps and shark dorsals)
Shouldn't this belong in crapgadget?
@Monkey...they just had the Palm Pre shaped soap yesterday. Doesn't seem that unreasonable.
Genius!!!
25$ for a deck? This has Apple written all over it.
$25 Bucks! Their cool but not that cool.
They're.
iCards for iSheep?
Sony Satio will end the iPhone.
The cards are funny, if overpriced. And I don't think anything will end the iphone yet. It's clearly Apple's best product available.
They said that about the Xperia.... what happened to that thing eh?
LOL. Suuuuure it will. Just like every other "iPhone killer" has killed the iPhone. Just like every "iMac killer" has killed the iMac.
You guys don't learn too good, do ya?
Also, careful with the "sheep" comments. Do you use Windows? The OS 90% of the world uses? Sheep what now? Hypocrisy means what?
They said that about the Xperia.... what happened to that thing eh?
This comment system is a work of art.
I know I shouldn't respond because you're an obvious troll going to Apple fan sites and posting stupidity like this...but I can't resist.
You still think it's about hardware feature parity? You think the reason people like the iPhone is because of the touch screen? Maybe you think that once a piece of hardware comes out that has more hardware features then the iPhone is finished.
The difference between a Pre, a G1, a Satio, or a Touch Pro is that they are running different mobile platforms. And those platforms are no where near as polished as the iPhone OS. Not even close. And now that the App Store has taken over, the hardware is even less relevant.
Ooh, you have a 12MP camera and a touch screen? Is it really simple to use and does it play Sally's Spa? No? Then I don't care.
Oh my god, you might be the most clever person ever.
Just like how the PalmPre ended the iPhone?
Troll.
btw, my pet is a sheep.
Troll.
targeted at the sheep, i'm assuming
Like the Palm Pre... and the Instinct... and the Touch Hero... and the BlackBerry Storm... and the _____ (insert name of next phone to come along).
Sony's had years to get their phone act together, but I highly doubt this will be the Ant-iPhone.
Or not.
Lame!
Satio is indeed a beast.

previous two posts were for Jakko
Nice.
Off-Topic: Just got a 13in MPB. And O-M-G. Everyone should switch to to Apple. Everyone. There is no need for competition. Apple has it all. Down to a science.
There's always one that ruins the fun.
Great, another mactard in the making. Just what this site needs.
@topic: this is hardly newsworthy enough for a weekend post...
Uh, no thanks. : )
I don't really feel like being stuck to a single hardware maker, I'd like to have Blu-Ray, better graphics, larger hard drives, more customization, flexibility, better screens, battery life, etc.
some people just love simplicity. Others know enough to want more options. quit arguing already.
And I'm sorry, but newsworthy or not, I found this post very entertaining.
@Anthony
That's what I thought when I saw the first comment
you mean MBP?
...Dumbass
Is this a gadget?
This is Engadget.
I think it goes:
THIS IS ....... ENGADGET!
300 references are lame, but I just could not resist.
I'm half tempted to get a deck of these, actually.
I would totally pay $4.99 for those. Maybe even $9.99 if it was free shipping...
but $25!?!? no way.
I mean, maybe if it had an Apple logo since that's were the REAL value is when buying overpriced apple gear is the authentic fruit logo...
but this mess doesn't even have that!!
I refuse to be be fleeced and not even get a shiny object with an Apple logo!!
I collect playing cards. I would pay $10 at most for those cards.
It is a neat idea, just too pricy.
make these 20 dollars cheaper and they would start selling so fast.
really engadget?
Can't you just copy the image a bunch of times then print it out? And with sharpie change the card value. And last, tape something sturdy to the back.
wow... you can get KEM cards for this price...
I want Palm Pre cards, so I can flick them like "Bing... Bing... Bing."
omg most clever comment ever!!!!!!
WHY?
