The instinct isnt exactly a dumbphone, but to expect it to play HD video is remarkable. I mean come on, we are talking about a phone here that the only option to fix the slow music loading times was to limit how many songs the player could support. So if you had over 1100 songs, too f'n bad because the Instinct will not support your large library. Your 8gb MicroSD card became instantly useless. This is a phone that had to have firmware updates pulled and force downgrades sent back to the poor saps who got the updated firmware. The GPS got updated about 8 months ago, lasted for about 36 hours and then pulled. As of yet and as far as I know, the GPS update is still in limbo.

The app contest was an absolute epic level of failure.
