Hopefully we'll be able to buy any LTE compatible device (phone, computer, TV set, car, whatever) and plug the SIM card in and get our internet access that way. I also hope that the "any app" requirement is enforced to include VoIP apps. Then the wireless carriers will have real competition in the voice market, because we can always dump their voice plan and sign up for a data only plan and use a 3rd party for voice, that is if the wireless carriers prices are not competitive enough. If we're paying big bucks for a data connection, we should be able to use it however we please as long as we're not being malicious, and even that should be on a case-by-case basis.

Verizon's phone/app selection sucked when I left them, plus I didn't like the fact that you couldn't make calls and use the internet connection at the same time. With LTE and the any device/any app requirement, they may reduce in suckage enough for me to return.

bernardino

Comments on Verizon tests first data connections on LTE network in Seattle and Boston

"The trials are being conducted on commercial LTE base station hardware, but everything else is prototype (and changing very rapidly).
