Then you can attach the corresponding sequences of DNA to nanosized parts and mix it in with the base — the thing will construct itself due to basepairing rules. The idea is to create complex structures by using the chemical properties of DNA. They can use small "staples" of DNA to bind certain pieces of a long string of unraveled DNA, effectively folding it into whatever shapes they like. And In "2D" (which still is 3D of course just only one layer) they can make what ever they want, with the above mentioned origami software.
