3. 'Slim' doesn't exactly mean it'll be better. Look at the PS2. ;)

Many parent migth actually consider buying the PS3 now for their kids. I've heard from a friend who works in retailer FNAC that, in many stores, parents with little kids are coming to the counters asking when will the PS3 price drop. This was about 2 weeks ago. Seeing this migth actually turn the tables for Sony.

It isn't like they'd be missing out on a lot of sales right now by letting people know about it. The damned thing isn't exactly flying off shelves as is.
