1) The PS2 stand was $19.99, ten years ago. That's $25.61 in 2008 dollars. This stand is actually *cheaper* than the PS2 stand was.

2) Nobody is forcing you to buy it. Just keep the system on its damn side.

3) You wanted thinner and you wanted cheap. Well, with a thinner system comes less stability. The original "fat" PS3 doesn't need a stand. Still, even if you decide you want a new PS3, and you want to stand it up, you're still paying $76 less than an older PS3.

Why the hell are you people complaining? Oh, I forgot, because it's the internet.

Still, the sense of entitlement around here is pretty irritating.

Don't talk nonsense, my 360's been vertical for about 18 months now and I've encountered no problems whatsoever. If your stupid enough to move it while the discs spinning, you'll get scratches. Xbox360 HDDs are SATA. If you were to take one apart, you can actually replace it manually. You just have to transfer the contents via other means, as sticking in a blank drive won't work on the 360. (Whereas a PS3 will automatically prepare the new HDD for you, and integrate it into the system, you have to do this manually for 360 HDDs, and it's a bitch.)

Also, all models of the Xbox 360 come with wireless controllers and there is NOTHING wrong with wired controllers. I love my wired controller. No batteries to worry about. The cord is really long, and it features a really nice breakaway section on the end. It's USB, and you can use it with your PC without having to buy a bluetooth adapter, wireless adapter, or an extra USB cord.

I do understand the problem with the rechargeable battery coming with the controller, but at the same time, I don't want it stuck in the controller. If that lithium ion battery loses it's capacity over time (which it will), you are going to have to buy a long USB cable, or a new controller. Then of course the final retail price includes such novelties as shipping costs, the retailers profit, the distributors profit and Sony's profit, cause you know everyone involved in its distribution and sale needs to get paid otherwise why do it.

That price isn't a Sony exclusive thing, think of this one.....look at the price of an iPhone case, they usually run about $25....do you actually think it costs them anywhere near $25 to make a case? NOPE, a silicon case with packaging runs about $1 per unit out of the factory.
