Very similar to the 5dmkii ( <a href="http://a.img-dpreview.com/reviews/CanonEOS5DMarkII/Images/inhand02.jpg" rel="nofollow">http://a.img-dpreview.com/reviews/CanonEOS5DMarkII/Images/inhand02.jpg</a> ) but the spacing is smaller. It would be far more practical to be able to turn the camera on easily as you pull it up to shoot. Canon doesn't put pop up flash units on their professional cameras and this clearly has a place for one.  I think it's more likely a successor to the 50D which has failed to fill it's place between the 40D and 5DmkII.  People just buy the 40D.  No reason not to, cheaper, better image quality (esp. at high ISO's).  <br><br>I do think the power switch on the mode dial is interesting, this is something Canon does on their Rebel cameras.  The power switch on their higher end cameras has been right next to the LCD for around a decade. But a good looking one.  Pro's would rarely ever use that flash, and if you're in the market for a camera of that price you've already got at least one or 2 580's or don't want a flash.<br><br>Not FF:<br>OOO, maybe. Looks nice.  The power switch is interesting.  I really don't care that much, but I like the LCD.  I rarely turn off my 30D.  It just sleeps.<br><br>I'm most interested in the M Fn button next to the shutter. I am in the market for a 5D mark 2 and need it by October, but most of the stores don't have a large inventory of them. I won't bother to school you on the facts, do the research.  5DII is awesome and I would love one over a D700.  But the D700 is the superior camera based purely on taking photographs.  I have Canon lenses and would adore 1080p video. Like the 5D there are no "Creative Controls" on the exposure dial.  That means it is not likely to be a replacement for the 50D.<br>2. The top appears somewhat deeper than a 50D (note the diopter control.)  Perfect for a bigger prism.<br>3. Placing the on-off switch on the exposure dial frees up space for a either an articulated LCD or for a larger mirror prism (a must for a full-frame.)<br>4. Canon never wastes a good sensor.
