The PS3 controllers are not using the Xbox protocol as I understand it. Instead they use a separate propriety protocol. If they used the same protocol it would stand to reason they would work across the platforms (unless that is deliberately sabotaged). And the whole incompatible music-game controller issues would also likely never have existed, as they have always worked with both games on the Xbox.

Anyway. Bluetooth requires a pairing process: Yes only once! I never had to re-sync my Wiimote or PS3 controllers.
Too laggy.: have you played a Wii or a PS3! I have never had any lag problems with my Wii or PS3!

This the only thing that makes any sense.
I think Bluetooth charges for royalties, so that can add up.

It's really a shame that they didn't spend the extra time/effort/money to do it right...

And then they always need to make such bulgy dongles, I can't imaging they can't cram the same hardware into a nice small USB stick like the ones that ship with todays logitech mice/keyboards...]]>Aug 21st 2009 2:39AM
