Ovi Maps are downloadable maps on your phone for several countries, unlike google maps which is online, so you need data plan for that.
With this Nav. edition, they are giving lifetime license. So lets say you bought a 5800 without Nav edition.

So its USD 250. Plus assume that you buy Garmin or Ovi Maps license, which would be around USD 100 for 1 year.
So eventually your total cost would be 250+100=350 for 1 year
If you buy new maps for next year, then again add the price.

However, if you buy Nokia Nav. edition, it is currently rumored to be 410, which will be cheaper at other online stores/etc,
plus if they sell it with carriers. (atleast in europe), then you can think that its a much better and practical option than any other option out there.

Also what the video shows is that you can synchronize maps from your PC to phone and download route from PC to phone.
But you can also plan your route on phone ofcz.

So i think this is way better option. Nokia needs to market this in a better way and bring out such videos as above with different features highlighted separately.

hary536

Comments on Nokia's 5800 Navigation Edition announced, finding its way to stores soon

maps.ovi.com on a MAC?

How did they make this video??
