AOC do manufacturer their own LCD panels, which are stunning, hence one of their monitors won a top award from PC World. The colors are very rich and the response is not to shabby for video or gaming. The negatives are that the casing and OSD (On Screen Display) is not as robust as those from some of the other players, such as LG and Samsung. From what I understand, AOC manufacture LCD panels for many other vendors too, a little like Sharp. And the company has been around a while too. If AOC can do as the Japanese and Korean companies have done, and sort out their product casing and human factors quality, then they may be able to take on the larger players.

Wonderkid

Comments on AOC's 2436Vw does 24-inches of power sipping LCD on the cheap

Power sipping? Superb EXCEPT for the color range. I do find for some reason it lacks some color 'punch' and I haven't been able to adjust it enough to match the vibrance of the old 19" Samsung LCD next to it. The only fault i have with it is a viewing angle issue because it only tilts back at 45 degrees and not forward at all (so if my eyes are below its logo it looks darker). Even with that annoyance it is still better than any veiwsonic, dell, acer or nec display ive had since 2003. i will never buy a monitor or tv (vizio rocks too) that costs more than 400 bucks ever again!

acey

Comments on AOC's 2436Vw does 24-inches of power sipping LCD on the cheap

Why would anyone need an HDMI input for a monitor without speakers?

FirasR
