Considering that if someone has a D300 and a large selection of DX format lenses, and no (FX?) lenses, then an upgrade from a D300 to a D700 or D3/x would be alot more costly, as the DX lenses are more or less useless on a full frame sensor. So actually they are moving away from CCD and to CMOS. I think it mainly a cost thing and ISO thing. I'm willing to do that because the staff there actually does know a boat load more about photography than I do, and I can walk in there anytime and get free help with my photo gear, and I get free or discounted classes when I buy a new camera.  They have earned my business, and I have no problem spending a little extra. Video doesn't hurt the 5D Mk II.<br><br>But, Canon is NOT going to make two models... 5D Mk II -and- and 5D Mk II with Video.<br><br>And neither would Nikon. Now THAT's a shitty attempt at convergence.<br><br>Canon, Nikon and for that matter, none of the major players should forget that their PRIMARY customer base consists of PHOTOGRAPHERS who aren't too keen to pay for features that aren't related to PHOTOGRAPHY. It's quite alright that they're looking for some extra sales, but offer us the same camera without video.
