Touchscreen displays have been commonplace for years, nearly a decade, in the dirtiest possible places you can imagine: bars and restaurants. Granted, they're not trying to watch HD video or anything, but it's not that difficult to keep a display screen clean.

Case in point, I am using a Sony VGC-V620G all in one, purchased in 2005.
Check out the specs:
3.4 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor
20-inch LCD,
250 GB hard drive,
1 GB RAM
dual-layer DVD+/-RW burner
Built-in 10/100 Ethernet; 56K (V.90) modem, 54-Mbps wireless LAN (802.11b/g)

Since then I have upgraded to a 500Gb drive, but thats it. I wish I could upgrade the Nvidia GeForce FX Go5700 video card, but it is an AGP port and it is impossible to get a substantially faster card for that port.

The modern all in ones only better that spec with the usual processor and RAM, and a 24 inch screen.
