Video: ASUS EeeTop PC ET2002T gets touched up
We might already have all the specalicious details on the new EeeTops from ASUS, but it never hurts to see one in action, right? Taking center stage here is the voice-activated widgetry ASUS has added to its Windows 7 install, allowing you to check the weather, play music, and even initiate Skype calls solely via the awesomeness of your voice. Expected to retail at €599 in Europe, the 20-inch ET2002T definitely looks sleek, though its screen is glossy enough for the camera girl to wave at us surreptitiously a number of times. Check it out, but be warned, there's a small bit of salty language midway through, which is as inappropriate for the office as it is hilarious.

I'd say that phrase describes Kanye West's music quite accurately.
For those who don't want to watch the whole thing:
@ 4:25 : Reviewer: "Search 'F*ck Everybody'." Computer: "Search 'F*ck Everybody'." (shows on screen as well).
First? Balls...
you could post it as "keep it real fake" it's a photocopy of an iMac :)
I agree with mex
:-)
It's never as glossy as my iMac!
I don't know what's more crazy, if unusable voice control, or touch control, which almost no one gonna use.
On the Mac we have very responding Voice Control and I thing next Apple OS (10.7) gonna be very "touch friendly"(thanks the iPhone) and finally Apple will introduce "Touchbook", or what ever you call it. :D
Voice control won't be used by people with arms and legs until you can speak without modifying your normal diction. Even when that happens, most people will have a barrier about talking to their computers unless the whole process is made completely seamless and the computer is given a more "friendly face"... Like Gerty or something. ^_^
I think you are spot on with that.
Bottom rung 20" iMac = us$1200
EEEtop ET2002 = us$700(?)
Now if the eeetop has a bluray, then it is game, set, match...
Yes is has a 'slot-in BD/SMD', aka Blue Ray
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blu-ray_Disc
No scratch that,
The ET2002 only has a 'Supermulti'
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Multi
The ET2203 on the other hand does have the BlueRay player
Love the background. Kinda looks like Command Central.
He said Kanye West pretty funny. I wonder if the voice recognition software is Asus or Microsoft's. It's probably Asus I guess, though at least on Microsoft's, it gradually learns the way a user speaks to be more accurate instead of getting it wrong every time.
I think the fact that it works fairly well for a guy with a accent as strong as his it work fine if English was their first language.
hey isn't that the guy that gave us the 'how a usbdrive is made'-show at Kingston?
it's not a 'desktop atom processor', intel doesn't classify ANY atom as a desktop processor, they call the atom 'Intel® Atom™ processor 330 - nettop dual-core processor"
So nettop, and you won't find any atom's when you click 'desktop' on the intel site because it isn't meant for desktop computers.
Pallenberg strikes again.
How quaint, "Hello computer".
Anyone know where I can get that wallpaper he is using?
Thanks
That is exactly what I want to know....where is that awesome desktop pic??
I'm pretty sure it's this http://www.desksoft.com/EarthView_Screenshot.htm
You have to fiddle with all the X & Y axis etc to get the same view as on that desktop but I figured it out, looks pretty cool. I think it's even dynamic and changes with night day etc.
