I have yet to see the K-cup-based machine that can top a Flavia Fusion, especially where drink variety is concerned. You rarely need to clean anything, as the drink goes directly from the pouch to your cup; no nozzles/funnels/etc. Once every month or so, wipe the inside of the brew head with a damp cloth. It's convenient enough for me to I keep one on my desk at work, and I love being able to brew directly into a tall glass (Lemon Calm over ice... mmm) or a travel cup.

The biggest drawback to the Flavia system is drink pouch availability... you can find the Fusion machines in stores, but you have to order your drink pouches online. That aside considering Starbucks as a reference for the quality of coffee is just a plain insult. Starbucks uses the poorest quality avaible and splashes in some flavours to cover their crap. It isn´t coffee its just a black mix with sugar and cream. So the comparison of Senseo and Starbucks just doesn´t make sense. That said.. I can´t say that Senseo is that great either yet its a nice invention for people who drink little coffee. Granted, Most of these machines are not as good as a decent normal coffee pot quality wise, At least from my experience for normal coffee, a good old drip-style coffee maker with a good burr grinder beats these things...

But my family has a Keurig and we're on our second Tassimo machine, The Keurig has a huge selection of coffee and some of it is actually pretty darn good, the Tassimo has the party trick of producing espresso and espresso-based drinks easily :)

I think for normal stuff the Keurig wins, its closest to the coffee i brew in a pot, but the Tassimo's ability to make espresso and espresso-based drinks is a very nice feature to have...

You can't sip from a flat side, since otherwise liquid will pour out along the entire side, spilling down your face. You must sip from next to a corner, and you need to angle the cup just right (to avoid spilling), and the corner feels odd pushing against your upper lip.

Round just works better. I wish I could drink coffee but it messes up my stomache. One type didn't. It was something grown in Hawaii, but i'm not sure what it was called. Kona something or other. Not sure why this is. Maybe it was just a coincidence.

I should buy a coffee maker. I haven't owned one in about 10 years or so. A year ago I was going to get a Senseo or similar brewer until I read some reviews on them and heard about the prices of the coffee pods. I wonder who makes the best coffee makes these days? Hopefully not Mr. Coffee

For my personal tastes... there are a few that I like (several ex-g/f's and the current one too have been VERY sensitive to the acidity in coffee). I have found that for my tastes and budget... eastern african coffee works well for me (Kenya and Tanzania). As well, Blue Mountain coffee either from Jamaica, or Mexico are pretty decent too. Stick with the medium roast if you can. The biggest thing is just to try a bunch of coffee, and find which one works for you. I have both a drip machine (a thermal carafe one so the burner on the bottom doesn't bake the snot out of my coffee and evaporate all the water after its made), and an espresso machine... both can make good coffee, or americano (given the machine)... but my grinder was the best investment I made.... it always makes my coffee better than it used to be when I had that little blade piece of crap.
