That hols a lot of truth when it comes to cames, but if your not looking to game (but it sounds like you are) you should be ok with it for normal stuff.

Otherwise look out for a laptop with ATI or Nvidia DEDICATED chips.
On a side note, for gaming i'd always recomend a desktop (as its far cheaper and easier to pick parts, not to mention upgradable)

in other word not for gaming


and i really hate how every laptop all of sudden need to be able to run high end games

in my opinion if your a gamer u shouldn't be using a laptop any how as laptop aren't design for gaming in first place intel x45hd chips r really good for every thing other then gaming

BTW, If you want to upgrade your HDD or RAM, do NOT get it from the manufacture. They'll overcharge an ridiculous amount. Just get it from somewhere else (Newegg, Amazon, etc.) and install it your self. yes apple has that much market shares in the 1000 dollar range mainly cuz apple doesn't sell anything under a thousand so every one who is an apple fan boy has spend over a grand not giving as choice

but hey great apple has 90% of a price range that only make 10% of people who buy laptops 90% of people shopping for computer don't wanna spend a thousand dollars


most regular people don't want or need a computer that expensive

so dell making a decent laptop at 500 range where 90% of the people looking for computer are at

Considering most OEM's don't sell $1,000+ laptops in retail locations, it is pretty obvious why Apple touts that statistic. I guarantee you Dell has never sold one of their Precision laptops in a retail outlet. It's impossible to find a optioned out XPS laptop at a Best Buy. All of their high-end sales are online/enterprise sales.
