It plays source engine games (Left 4 Dead, Half Life 2, etc). It doesn't play much else, and defiantly not COD: WaW. Just get something with a dedicated video chip. You'll be much happier, more games will play and it won't steal your video memory. The only thing Intel GMA has going for it is that it has longer battery life than dedicated chips, but not by much now a days.

Dafrety

Comments on Dell's ULV-powered Inspiron 14z and 15z now on sale

You do know this laptop meant to be more of ultra portable not a desktop replacement it meant for longer bat life and basic computer needs and so on

in other word not for gaming

and i really hate how every laptop all of sudden need to be able to run high end games

in my opinion if your a gamer u shouldn't be using a laptop any how as laptop aren't design for gaming in first place intel x45hd chips r really good for every thing other then gaming

i have dell Inspiron 15 with onbord intel x45hd graphic and haven't had an issuie 1 and still can run some games all though it not what i got it for

YOYO

Comments on Dell's ULV-powered Inspiron 14z and 15z now on sale

Laptops can totally be used for gaming! This however is not such a model. I have a Dell Vostro 1500. It's an older model, but it runs every game I've thrown at it. I got mine configured with a 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 667 MHz RAM, 320 GB 7200 RPM HDD, and nVidia 8600M GT 256 MB. Dell doesn't really have anything comparable to this besides the Studio 15 at the moment, but HP has several models that can be configured better than mine.

BTW, If you want to upgrade your HDD or RAM, do NOT get it from the manufacture. They'll overcharge an ridiculous amount. Just get it from somewhere else (Newegg, Amazon, etc.) and install it your self.
