Ferrari One "ultrathin notebook" (read: netbook) managed to blend in rather well among a number of other laptops (at least 15, by our count) on display at AMD's VISION event yesterday. The chassis felt pretty sturdy and the keys had the right amount of bounce... and we'd love to tell you more, but like all but a handful of portables on display, it was resolved to play the same video over and over again, refusing to acknowledge our key-pressed directives. We also decided to take snapshots of the entire display lineup, although more than a few here are previously-seen models -- it was pretty much

If it followed the trend of the rest of the vision event it will have been Tom Clancy's HAWX (that was the only flight sim i saw playing there), but i could be wrong.

Seriously. What is up with this cross-branding of electronics with exotic sports cars?? Lamborghini cell phones...Ferrari laptops...WTF?? What do the two have to do with each other??
Its just a way to signify that some "added value" - trinkets, artwork, and nicer finish - comes together with the basic computer... just deal with it.

Their previous Ferrari series were really crappy. Hope this one is good.
I have a 4005(upgraded to 320gb hdd and 3gb ram) and its far from crappy, The 5000 was just underwhelming compared to a core2 with its Turon 2x cpu. But if you want a well built nice looking laptop the Ferrari line isn't bad. If I could get a current Ferrari 1000 with a core2 I'd buy it today, but Acer seems to only built lower end or 17" "media" crappers. They really need some good higher end 15" laptops to fight the asus "G" laptops(my next laptop).

Whats the original model of the Acer? Cause it sounds kinda sweet.
Thank God Acer removed the antiquated disc drive from their smallest Ferrari. I never understood why they introduce it without the disk drive. Then they add it because people cannot let go. And now it's gone again. Good. Disk are now like floppy drives were. Just let it go. Get on line and download.

By the way, you should purchase some lens with optical stabilization if you can`t make sharp images...
