All smartphones are priced at $700+ when first released, though, so I don't see why anyone should be surprised. The iPhone has a slightly smaller screen and now that it does landscape softkeyboard it's not too bad. Would be cool to see one of these with a slide out keyboard though.

Uh, what are you talking about? Android had an emulator FROM LAUNCH and they just updated it in the latest version. I know b/c I played around with it during the G1 launch (first thing I did since I didn't plan to get an Android phone until the specs match my expectations). And it can be developed in Eclipse just like any java app, so it's really convenient if you have done java development before. It also can be developed in any platform: Windows, OSX, or Linux.

With Winmo you can only use Windows to develop and you have to pay for Visual Studio (Express version is not supported). Seriously, stop quoting any manufacturers numbers in regards to battery life and open your eyes. And real, independent review of the TG01 complains about the TERRIBLE battery life. E.g.

"We are of the opinion that the 1,000mAh battery of the Toshiba TG01 is unable to maintain the phone working for a decent amount of time in between consecutive charges."
