Apple finally has a nice management interface in iTunes. It finally works well on Windows machines. Too bad it's currently only for the Japanese market (though some Japanese online stores will export them but the price is high due primarily to the high Yen valuation and shipping costs) and it's only in Japanese!

Japanese versions still uses Sonic Stage (i.e. ATRAC format only in Japan) or drag n drop.
You'll need to find and/or buy 3rd party media software to rip music, edit files and/or create playlists!

Sony makes good hardware but historically makes TERRIBLE software, if any! It can't make software to save itself!

Too bad since the new players look great, even if it has NO truly usable software and has the mickey mouse-type ear buttons.

I'd still consider buying this primarily for the 32g/64g capacity versions esp. the speaker versions!
