I have a Dell Mini 10 with the SAME old Atom processor and the SAME meagre 1mb or Ram and the experience you describe is about as foreign to me as it comes.<br><br>If you HAD a netbook, what apps would you like to run on it? IMO, that is the optimal tradeoff between ultimate portability, light weight (provided they could keep it within 3lbs) and long-term usability (given its 12hr battery life) without eyestrain. A normal conversion from Euro to Dollar just does not work. We have seen lot of European released products sold here in a $1 to 1eu conversion rate. So that thing could be under $600. <br><br>That "phenomenon" always happens and engadget ALWAYS call it wrongly. Then they would make a post acting surprised that it is actually cheaper stateside. Well duh.....<br><br>I think Engadget should be responsible for that kind of misinformation. Well they can say that the conversion are this and that which is the reason they came up with $800. But then again with a statement like this: " ....with a $800 price tag" - Dude the price tag does not say $800; it says €570. Get the facts straight.<br><br>These reports are just subtle but slanted. Not sure if I'll ever buy a netbook though. My thin-and-light laptop and iPod Touch serve pretty much all my needs, from portable web access and videos to more serious computing power and dvd playback.
