The 56Mbps is marketing fluff based lies which they know isn't true. At least if my car is rated for 25 Mpg and I only get 23 Mpg, I wouldn't call my car company a dirtbag liar, but in this case, 56 Mbps will yield a MAX speed likely around 8Mbps, and in many cases considerably lower than that. To put that in perspective, lets say you bought that 25 Mpg car and it actually got 3.6 Mpg. I bet you'd be plenty mad, but that is exactly what they are going.

Allen

Comments on Huawei set to launch 56Mbps HSPA+ service in 2010

whats the point to moving to LTE then if hspda+ is faster than LTE?

jay jay

Comments on Huawei set to launch 56Mbps HSPA+ service in 2010

available spectrum and bandwidth, 3G can handle as many connections as 4G and so you get a fluctuation in speeds between the theoretical compared to actual when on 3G.

4G allows more connections while maintaining a more stable and constant speed.

latency- 3G will always have a high latency in comparison to 4G.

at home your latency with a good connection is 8ms-12ms, with 3G its about 100ms to 400ms.
with 4G you can get really close to a wired connections and have about 10-50ms latency.

latency is how long it takes data to travel the faster it travels the lower the latency, the faster your web pages load.

Manny

Comments on Huawei set to launch 56Mbps HSPA+ service in 2010

welp. time to move to china.

trevor

Comments on Huawei set to launch 56Mbps HSPA+ service in 2010

I agree.
