But no one seems to mention that the biggest benefit to be gained from this is the power saved worldwide from not leaving PCs on all the time. Excruciatingly long boot times are main reason I never shut my PC off. it spends booting?<br><br>What takes time is the BIOS listing up your hardware and checking it's working (something called POST).<br><br>All of this is PRIOR to Windows loading so IMHO this would benefit any OS you throw at this babies, and that's why they don't show the Aero Interface there, From the momento you see the windows logo and on, BIOS booting has already ended.<br><br>So really, Vista and Windows 7 have EFI boot support, but only for UEFI (EFI 2.0) and above. It's mobile stuff that really needs to improve.<br><br><br>I remember when they said Vista would boot as fast as a TV turning on. I do hope the hype around Windows 7's boot time turns out to have more truth than that.
