This is because it will need rooting and a custom ROM (Google basically killed the custom ROM community with it's C&D notice to Cyanogen). Even with custom ROMs completely unrestricted it will be more of a challenge to port Sense UI over to this phone since it uses a different processor. Also Sense UI belongs to HTC and this is an Acer phone, so the legality of doing so is also in question. Maybe if you grouped the iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3GS together it beats out every other phone in sales (I say maybe because I recall a report stating the Blackberry Curve 83xx line having better sales), but technically if you did that you'd also have to take any one company and put all their random phones together too and collect their sales.

RIM has 52% of the market share (read: link). Apple doesn't.

Granted, the iPhone 3GS is a good phone, I enjoy the app store (Peggle and Wolfenstine), but wanting a better phone to come out and beat the crap out of my iPhone is something I'd love to happen so I can pick up the much better product. I can't stand Apple fanbois (fanboys? fanboies?) who try and kill another great product because they fear that they have invested their cash in an inferior product.

Its the same thing you folks do with other products that's superior to an Apple product (ex. Zune HD, any other smartphone, any new computer line, Chrome OS, Google Voice, Windows 7, Linux, etc.) or at least introduces new features that Apple should consider incorporating into their own products (such as multitasking in the iPhone, or Google Voice in the iPhone).

So, to DR House and any other Apple fanboies, boys, bois, or whatever: Lets see some of that Apple enthusiasm placed where it belongs...
