Too bad serato is (&)(*&)(&@(*#& amazing. If it wasn't then I might actually be interested in NI dj gear. But Richie Hawtin can use whatever he pleases, hes freakin on a different level than from most other producers. I highly suggest his album DE9, classic! im a digital dj too. does that mean i cant beatmix? hell no, i started in the 4th grade when all my friends got into breakdancing. im 35 now so, yeah ive been at this on and off a lot longer than you have as well.

digital dj'ing, 4 decks, effects, samplers, groove boxes. all of these things became a real possibility for 1 dj to handle at once the second he didnt have to beatmix anymore. beatmixing is just 1 skill in the dj toolbox. it does NOT encompass djing exclusively. you think a surgeon isnt a surgeon anymore once he starts bringing robotics into the equasion? also, not all dj's can mix just because traktor, ableton, and virtual dj have auto sync. its VERY easy to make a horrible sounding mix if you dont know what youre doing. the fundimentals are still required. but the tools have evolved and opened up new and exciting possibilities for both the dj and the crowd. i for one find myself at least 4x busier than i ever was with 2 turntables and a mixer alone.
