A good example is the series "Psych" on the USA Network. The character Sean traditionally used an Apple in earlier seasons. This season, the character Gus made a big deal about getting new laptops (actually weaving it into the storyline). When we next see Gus, he has a Dell laptop with a bigass circular Windows logo on it.
