All I tried to do was overwrite my desktop ical data to my verizon curve. Had to force quit the app twice and reboot my laptop once. Oh well. Back to markspace...until something better comes out. Damn, I wish someone would figure out how to force isync to behave more like the pc side: device overwrites desktop, quick syncs instead of the 4 score and 7 years crap, consistently dependable syncs... I've even tried to sync using bb desktop via vmware, but have troubles with categories, etc. and take too much time haulin the data back to mac...double damn. It fails during/after syncing the contacts with a generic "Sync error". I had a similar issue when I was sync'ing with the Windows version. From what I can figure, it had a hard time when you had separate groups of contacts. In other words, I had my wife's contact group separate from my contact group in Outlook. When you would sync it with the Windows version, it wouldn't pick one group's contacts. Looks like all of the extra time RIM spent getting the software out in September--correction October-- wasn't spent on getting it right...

Todd M

Comments on BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac now available, we go hands-on

Disastrously bad
Have to sync Entourage with all Apple apps before you can sync with blackberry
Numerous field incompatibilities between the three which asks me to manually resolve everytime it syncs
And has managed to delete a bunch of phone numbers from my contacts

This is worse than PocketMac which just duplicated information instead of deleting it.

DCP

Comments on BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac now available, we go hands-on

I'm using OS 10.5.8 and have tried syncing my contacts to my Bold through Address Book. the Desktop Manager chronically tells me the sync is complete and then leaves out about 20 of my 190 contacts in Address Book.
