And if you're gonna put 2 of your devices that close to each other, then chances are you've already connected both of them to your home network or to each other via BT. I would imagine the power usage could be much, much better than BT or Wifi because at 1.5 inches you can use an object detection sensor similar to the iPhone to detect when you need to switch TransferJet on/off.
