My SSD clonked out after approximately 3 days of use (not an uncommon problem judging by the Newegg.com reviews). I sent it in to be repaired and haven't seen or heard anything in 34 days.

I finally broke down and called to see what was going on and they said they were "waiting on a part" that could come in anywhere from 1-4 weeks.

Awesome! I hope they just go ahead and fix this mic issue while they have it cause I am selling mine when - if - I ever get it back.

Between buying it online (BuyitDirect) and delivery I read about the recall. Tried to ascertain from both Acer and Buyitdirect that my new model would not be effected. This apparently was impossible. Found out it was indeed effected by this problem. Acer refuses to replace the model but wants me to send my brand new laptop in for repair, even before it could be used. I find this absolutely rediculous. Acer recommends I sort it out with the re-seller, saying there is nothing they can do.
