Yes.  XP runs as admin as default for the user.  The minute you run as normal user you break apps left and right.  Vista and win 7 are designed to protect the OS's primary files out of the box.  Has additional under the hood security, and is designed for the multi core processor.  And yes that is the short answer.  I could go into a 4 paragraph post on why its better then XP.  At this point you may as well say Windows 2000 is better then Windows XP.  Both are depreciated OS's from a design standpoint right now.  Upgrade and get on a modern OS.
