Interchangeable operating systems and leave it on the consumer which OS they want to run. WINMO, ANDROID, WEBOS etc.... and let apple do what it does with their stuff. Basically the same choice users have today with linux, windows, osx<br><br>If for example texas instruments were to be to ARM processors, the same as intel is to x86, we might someday see standard arm chipsets the same way we see standard intel chipsets. Brilliant! That's nearly the same specs as the Acer Travelmate C110 Tablet PC sitting right here next to my Mac. Only difference is up to 1024x768; but who's splitting nits?<br><br>These are now *truly* Pocket PC's despite the earlier Windows misnomer for an earlier generation of relatively featureless PDA's. Given the newest breed of specs and functionality, it's absurd to keep calling these devices "phones." Call 'em PokeComs, pocket computers that do voice communications as 1/1000 of their total capabilities, or call them Wowie Zowies, I don't care what you call them, but please, lets stop calling them "phones."<br><br>Point of reference: I've beat up an Acer Travelmate C110 TabletPC for years. After tons of abuse, it finally lost a few keys (it's okay, I use the stylus mostly on the tablet) and a plastic hinge cover; but the hardware is still in use, running XPSP3 and serving its functions well. Either is far superior to earlier mobile CPUs like Qualcomm's older generation chipsets, and from the sounds of it, better than than the Cortex-A8 which powers the iPhone 3GS.<br><br>Android certainly COULD use a boost in battery efficiency.  After muddling through a G1 and a Hero, I find the battery life of the OS horrible, considering that comparable devices with the same battery/CPU running WinMo with the same basic usage last WAY longer (as well as running Android on my WinMo phone, which drains the battery WAY faster).
