Let me dissect what they mean by "a lifespan three to five times better than traditional lithium-ion batteries".

They are talking only about the usable life of the battery. Whereas standard lithion-ion batteries degrade significantly after a year of use, this battery degrades only after 3 years of use. However, the battery life measured in # of hours that it can power your laptop is still the same. So it's pretty much useless. I was hoping to get 12 hours of juice out of a battery. Instead, that part isn't going to change. Frankly, is it really that great news that the battery doesn't degrade after a year or two? Sure, it's an improvement, but this made it sound so much better than that.
