Phil Schiller on Windows 7: 'No matter how you look at it, it's still Windows'
Windows fans expecting Apple to let Microsoft have its moment in the sun next week when Windows 7 launches should probably know better by now -- the Mac maker is actually planning a marketing counter-offensive to hit alongside 7's debut. According to Phil Schiller, the convoluted upgrade path from Windows XP to Windows 7 represents a big opportunity for Apple, since users have to back everything up and reformat. "Any user that reads all those steps is probably going to freak out. If you have to go through all that, why not just buy a Mac?" Well -- we're sure most of you can think of several reasons. Of course, Microsoft has long said that most people will actually get Windows 7 when they purchase a new machine, which is one reason we're seeing such an absolute flood of interesting and innovative new PC hardware -- but Phil seems to remember that was also the company line about Vista, and homeboy isn't backing down. "We've been through these transitions before, and no matter how you look at it-it's still Windows." Harsh burn, amigo. Any last predictions? "I expect Snow Leopard will have an amazing upgrade rate, and Windows 7 won't." We thought you might say something like that. Good thing we're giving Steve Ballmer a chance to respond live on the air next week, no?[Via AppleInsider]

macs are cool, but expensive, unfortunately..
If I look at it upside down it's L smopuim.
Now for some biologist to find a critter to name so.
No matter how you look at it, that guy still has a mullet.
I am a Mac user and a PC user... yes that's right... I-use-both. I know that Apple could really care less about being the top dog. They aren't focused on that. What they focus on is functional stability and aesthetics. They don't put just any piece of equipment inside there systems, it is thought out and that is why their systems are so stable, not to mention there appealing interface that has a very scientific design. The Windows operting system on the other hand, is actually pretty awesome.. I mean..amazing, but what plagues it are the endless pieces of hardware that it has to be compatible with. So, Apple has the Mac that has been developed for specific hardware and Windows (unfortunately) has countless pieces of hardware that has been developed after market and made to be "'compatible".
To be honest, they both have their problems and they both have their amazing features. So, to your loyal mac users.. Shut up, and to the users of Windows... Shut up... oh and stop trying to replicate OS X.. geez, just do what I do, run both, as each of them have somthing great to offer.

I would never buy a "real" mac, because I know math and how much money is worth. Mac people I think know math too but they became part of the mac faithful for some reason and they buy them anyway, but they are embarrassed to admit they wasted their money on the intangible aspect of trying to look cool/green/hip/gay/whatever with a computer. Who cares? Its a commpuuutteerrrrr...... rtard.
I am not sure you look very cool with a Mac anyway, I doubt it gets you more chicks. It says I am stylish but not really handy with mechanical or general technology, as you bought the computer Steve would buy his Grandmother. It says, I bought the computer with the cool case and aesthetics and like to sit in the coffee shop listening to my John Mayer compilations in iTunes.... You know it.
Reality is that you should just admit that you bought it for dumb reasons, when you should have just bought a computer, but if you did that you would own a Windows computer.
You would never buy a "real" Mac, because you know math and how much money is worth??? What do you mean? I am pretty good with mathematics myself, but I can honestly say that I don't keep up on the current "worth" of money as it just doesn't interest me (if that is what you meant). The people who care to own a Mac and a PC, like myself, might actually be doing something other than playing games or looking at porn (assuming that is what you do). I personally develop software for both platforms. Oh, that whole thing about sitting in coffee shops or buying a Mac simply as a status symbol is nonsense. If you had half of a brain, you would understand that keeping up with what is popular and what is new is very beneficial for ones career..."rtard" (as you put it).
Oh, the real reason you won't buy a "real" Mac is, you just can't afford one, sorry!
P.s. Windows 7 is pretty cool so far, having had for only a week or so. The only issue so far was the wireless connection, it doesn't like WPA-Personal, but will accept WPA2-Personal, how silly.

I hate to say it but you made my point, anytime buying a particular "type" of computer is beneficial to one's career is just sad. Also it depends on what career you have. In mine somebody had a macbook and got laughed out the building, I believe they called it a "chiqlet", lol. The reason is cause they understand that a computer is strictly a tool and you get more tool capability if you buy a Windows PC for the same money. So its not about not being able to afford it it about maximizing your time. More Computing Power = More Time Savings. Simple.
Also remember that going with what is popular is not always smart, sure it may be good for your career for now, but eventually like all fads reality sets in the end you just look like the poser who tried to further his career with a gay computer.
Look at all the people who voted for the "popular" Obama because they wanted to be with the trend, a bunch of idiots doing something cause it was the popular thing to do... How's is that working out fer us?
