Improvements in resistive screen technology meant that stylus use was steadily declining, but not at an alarming rate. Finally in the second half of the 2000s, the explosive growth of capacitive touch screens in devices dealt a fatal blow to stylus usage, now considered as "uncool" and "old style".

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

Stylii are still among us, tucked away in some of the more professional phones and devices. Their ability to draw and write is what keeps them alive.

Considering the convenience of using fingers, it is unlikely stylii will ever be used full time again.

this (HiPhone) looks cheap, but well produced (by apple), it would've been a cool phone IMO. The iPhone's a neat platform (the appstore is pretty awesome) but it's too big and not very pretty. I mean, it's slick, but a bit too bland, product-design-wise I mean (yeah yeah, flame away; I'm an Apple / iPod owner btw). I think it's time for a drastic design change. That Zune HD looks so shexy.
