It is the same CPU architecture. I just renewed with Tmob, and got a Cliq.  As I understand it the Cliq is being released with 1.5 where as 1.6 is already available to all other Android phones! Not only is it on the wrong side for gamers/emulators, but it probably makes the keyboard a pain to use. The 'chin' is also on the right, you have a long way to reach to use the keyboard on the right hand side.
