The thing is always the same amount of transparentness --- but sometimes some parts emit light. The problem is: how do you emit black light? Maybe possibly as a computer display, but if applied to an area like passenger vehicles for instance, it would be very much welcome.  Heads Up Displays in automobiles fell to the wayside a bit ago after showing up in a few higher end vehicles.  The technology wasn't there. Turn the e-ink black and you can use the transparent OLED as a normal screen, turn the transparent OLED off and you can see the e-ink screen.
