MSI's
Wind Top line seems to be expanding at a breakneck pace, and the latest entry is actually worth bending over backwards to get a look at. Boasting a 21.6-inch multitouch display (1,920 x 1,080 native resolution), the all-in-one desktop also features Windows 7 Home Premium, 4GB of DDR2 memory, a 640GB hard drive, NVIDIA's GeForce 9300 integrated graphics set (or
Ion, if you please), an HDMI output, a bundled wireless keyboard / mouse and your choice of a 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo T6600 or 2.1GHz Pentium T4300 processor. You'll also get eSATA support, WiFi, a 1.3-megapixel camera and a 6-in-1 card reader. Three versions are up for pre-order right now at Amazon, with the cheapest pegged at $659.99 and the most pricey at $899.99.

I broke Wind
and your dignity as well...
Now that is what I am talking about. Although a 21.6" multi touch display is hardly practical.
For a desktop, I would actually prefer to have something like the Wacom touch instead of having the screen as the touch sensitive area. It looks to me a pain to have your arms extended to be in contact with the screen. A tablet surface provides a more comfortable, faster experience IMHO
That is true. Wacom's Pen and Touch is so cool, and 10GUI is just around the corner.
BUT, this multitouch screen is a feature and not a necessity. It's the fact that you have options at your own discretion to do so that makes it cool in my book
@Tikiteko:
You can always leave the computer laying on the desk instead of standing on it.
THe price is not bad for an all-in-one with a decent graphic cards. The machine actually looks good, classy.
Haha! Design is ripped directly from the older Apple Cinema Displays from a few years ago.
It does look cool and the price seems quite reasonable. No need for a touch display though.
EM1 = correct on all points.
Omg I just saw the resemblance.
*Twilight Zone theme music*
Damn, all this and under $1000? Kick ass.
I guess I can put it on a wall for playing music and basic browsing or as a giant picture frame
keep in mind to hide the cables. cables coming out of a device that's mounted on a wall makes it look ugly...
anyone remember those backlit picture frames that showed beaches and waterfalls? they were like in every single asian restaurant here in europe like 5 years ago. and u always saw the cables too. plus they were loud as hell...
I think I'll replace the iMac in my office with this
First wasn't GeForce 9400 in ION?
Second, do any wireless Multi-Touchpads exist for PC? That would be my choice.
Si. Check out the Bamboo Touch. http://www.wacom.com/bamboo/bamboo_touch.php
to my knowledge all Wacom Pads are USB not wireless...
I have that graphics. Can play source games on low.
personally, i would mount this into a table and hook up an external high def TV, and use this as a giant touch interface including turning on the on screen keyboard
Nice rip-off of a 10-year-old Apple Display design. Pretty cool (or sad) that Apple's designs are 10 years ahead of everybody else.
..yes... imagine how Xerox feels.
Add a battery good for several hours and a place to snap on/stow the keyboard and mouse - then a handle and a docking/charging port and I am completely on board... even better if it is has a tv tuner complete with antenna connection through the docking port so I can record if I want and then carry if off wherever to watch my taped shows.
Gotta love a little Daily Show on the deck with the morning coffee.
It would be nifty too if that docking station could be attached tight to my kitchen wall and double as an 802.11n router to a built in wifi card in the unit.
A 24" flavor would sell me...
I still don't get that whole multi-touch mania. I mean i get why the PC OEMs rush to it - Windows now has it and MS is going to push marketing money their way so by adding it they hope to get a piece of that. But honestly, is a vertical touch screen any practical?
The only ones that will really be happy about this will be those setting up POS terminals and information kiosks. Until now you had to sink serious money into those things...
i can't just understand why these guys have to make an AIO with such an old processor? and still they want to compete with imac with its mind-blowing look and bootcamp feature and much better performance? well, imac is expensive though, ya ya, i got it, you get what you pay for..
Something's screwed up in the Amazon listings. Why is it that the one that costs $659 has more RAM (and otherwise identical specs) than the one that costs $699? If I wanted to buy it today, I wouldn't be able to, because I don't want to pay more fr an inferior product, but I also don't know if there's some specs that haven't been listed, or if the prices or specs are just swapped.
Aren't the Core 2 Duo T6600 or 2.1GHz Pentium T4300 processor a tad bit representing what's to be cleaned from inventory shelves nowadays?
22" 1920x1200 with another colour than christian white and it'll be my next Windows PC. That's totally porn.
