It's highly annoying. That as well as the buttons on the side that always seemed to think I was pressing them and the tiny tiny scroll wheel from hell. Apple sucks at making mice, the puck mouse, the mighty mouse, and (I'll admit I haven't used this yet) this doesn't look to be any better. So far I'm liking it a lot. No scroll ball to gunk up is the biggest plus. The sideswipe backwards/forwards function works in any browser, not just Safari. I'm not a gamer, so I don't need or want 15 buttons on my mouse.

Glenn Gore

Comments on Apple's Magic Mouse now shipping: seeks mighty revenge

The annoying thing about the Magic Mouse is the fact that it uses multitouch for right click, and only actually has one button. For example, if you have both fingers resting on the surface and you press down with your middle finger (ie to right click), as long as both fingers are touching the mouse, it will assume you're just left-clicking. You have to lift your index finger off of the mouse before right-clicking for it to register. It's so annoying, and it ruins what could have been a fantastic mouse.

DinnyHoon

Comments on Apple's Magic Mouse now shipping: seeks mighty revenge

I think you are wrong. I tried one in the store and I don't think I had to raise my other finger. Remember you could right click w/ the Mighty Mouse and it didn't have a touch surface so it either actually has 2 buttons under the hood or the one button reads the direction of the applied pressure. I should be getting my Magic Mouse delivered in the next couple hours so I guess I'll find out for sure then.

Jonathan Badeen

Comments on Apple's Magic Mouse now shipping: seeks mighty revenge

Mighty Mouse also has touch surface and there's one simple button underneath the shell - it doesn't sense the direction of pressure.

I was thinking about replacing my Mighty Mouse with this, but it still works well for me (after 3 years of use) and I'm a little disappointed by the lack of buttons on the side. I use those all the time, not sure if I could do without them. For that matter, I also use screen corners, but it kinda depends on the situation.

iTuomas
