I had my blackberry for a year and now I have my iphone and to tell you the truth, BBM is kinda silly. it's meant to be for power business users... but then it just comes off like a wanna be AIM. you can send pictures/videos/text unlimited with most providers for a reasonable price now. bottom line, if you're like me and you just want to be connected to people, texting/picture messaging (which can even be done on the iphone... finally) etc. is a lot easier with the persons phone number [that you already have] than some postal-code-like pin that's exclusive to other BBM users.

there are enough messengers out there, why add another? icq, aim, yahoo, etc.

I understand that the iphone (or omnia, or n97, etc.) are not for everyone and that RIM makes some pretty snazzy devices... but are you really only sticking with your blackberry for another messenger?

Prokanda

Comments on

Blackberry Messenger is not like the other messenger apps available for any other phone, It's closer to a messenger client on pc than any other, you can easily send pictures, voice clips, update your status and change your display picture right away, plus it has some features that I haven't seen on most other messenger for smartphones like showing the music you're listening to, and showing when the other person is writing a message and viceversa, it also shows when the other person reads your message (so you can know if they are ignoring you or busy) and shows them as "unreachable" if they turned off their phone or are out of signal. It's a much better IM experience than what you get using beejive or other IM clients, it's always on, and it's exclusive with blackberry devices, so if you IM with friends a lot and many of your friends use it, or just to always stay connected with your significant other, it's a must-have.

Markos

Comments on

This is a really well done and just plain cool ad. This should have been how the Storm 1 was going to be, but maybe they needed it sorta as a trial edition of some sort, Apple did the same thing with the first iPhone so give BB a pass. By the looks of this and the pre-views it's been getting it looks like it might be what it was envisioned to be. No, this isn't going after the "iPhone killer" theme here, Verizon's going after AT&T's network, and they have the Moto Sholes to take care of that. This will be for the more business oriented customer base, Verizon doesn't just put their focus on one demographic. With all that said, seems like VZ is finally making wonderful moves, about time.

BallSackTeaBagHer88

Comments on

"did you see how fast the screen turned?"

.... Feels alot better than the Storm 1. The touch-click is right-on and overall the device is smooth. Touch-click is very well made this time around. Much more responsive. OS 5.0 is awesome!. Slimmer profile. Wi-Fi (you realize how much of a milestone this is for VZW to finally offer a BB with wi-fi?!. This is nothing like the storm 1 so don't compare it to that monstrosity (however on a side-note OS 5.0 even makes the Storm 1 alot better....go into your local VZW store and play with it, right away if you have ever used a the first Storm you will notice a big differance. This will do very well....2 bad no one is interested in it because of how much the Storm 1 wrecked everyones hopes and dreams lol + Android is gonna be the new kingpin and VZW's new baby. Overall i really really like the Storm 2

EraserZero
