The most energy-saving X86 solutions are either the AMD geode or Intel Atom/G500 combinations. In a perfect world these will use a minimum of 8 watts. On a normal smartphone battery with 1300 mAh these will last maybe 2 hours. This is a bit unacceptable for a phone or pda.

Now lets say Microsoft has a magical non-existing Windows (besides that horror that is CE) for ARM.
There is a slight problem here (besides non-existence):
No Windows Software at all will run on it (and its much to fat for ARM anyhow)

3) Fragmentation does not make a difference for files that are part of the OS when installed on a blank drive. When you install on a blank drive, all the files are laid out contigously. Fragmentation occurs when you delete and create files, and there is not enough contiguois space left to keep the new file in one large piece. What is it with UMPCs and shitting out sub-par hardware, coupled usually with bad buttons and either a crappy onscreen keyboard or a terrible little keyboard with buttons that look cool and are actually a pain to use, and being several times the price of a netbook with almost the same specs and likely the same operating system?

I mean, I love the thought of being able to carry something with Windows XP on it in my pocket such as this and would deal with crappy keyboards and bad buttons and a shitty screen and build--It's just the price. And being a phone at the same time? It'll probably be at LEAST 400 dollars more than it's actually worth, but it'll likely be 600-800 dollars more than what the actual hardware and software is worth.
