Definitely, although a QWERTY could be cool still and set it apart from the iPhone. I think creative wants to get back at apple somehow for beating them at the mp3 player game.
I also think it's funny how they basically took the name of a popular product and changed a W to Z.
Doubt ill ever buy this.... oh well

I love it how the Droid commercial got Apple fans all riled up.
With all the new android phones coming out like the HTC Dragon and the SE Xperia X3 i can't see this phone making that much of an impact on the android market

noone has 100,000+ apps...the iphone has about 80,000 and about 50% of those are "free" editions are work on the same exact code.
and itunes is pretty bad i find it way to bloated
I was interested in this in July, and I'll admit that the inclusion of an SD (rather than microSD) slot is still appealing. But since July/August, we've had:
-Nokia 5530XM
-SE X3/X10
-Samsung Behold II
-Moto Cliq/Droid
-HTC HD2, Imagio
I know this isn't a phone, but Android is wasted on anything that isn't a phone (that includes MIDs and netbooks, both of which are better off with a copy of XP). As such, I'm not seeing how manufacturers, KIRF or otherwise, will benefit from having a cellphone OS on it when all it has is wifi.
Android is not a cellphone OS, it's a mobile device OS:
To quote from the Google Project page for Android:
"Android is a software stack for mobile devices that includes an operating system, middleware and key applications.
Granted, most cellphones are mobile devices, but not all mobile devices are cellphones.
I have been playing with the egg, the media playback is really gud. Trying to get other android apps on it.
People say the DROID commercials get iPhone users all worked up but i haven't been mad. I thought they made perfect points that apple should have included. But alas Apple will do what it wants as long as people still buy. I'm hoping that ATT gets some Android devices but that doesn't appear to be happening any time soon.
AnDroidDoesn't have 100,000+ Apps (we don't have as many cr-apps)
AnDroidDoesn't have an excellent Virtual Keyboard (the VK on sense UI is incredible)
AnDroidDoesn't have a File Manager (wtf, yes we do.)
AnDroidDoesn't have Solid hardware (The Droid is incredibly solid)
AnDroidDoesn't have what seems to be the best mobile OS (what seems to be? that's all opinions dude)
AnDroidDoesn't have the number one spot of best phones on CNET, PCMAG, etc. (But it has 2 & 3 on CNET [droid is 3, and it's not out yet!])
anDroidDoesn't have sexy hardware (I would bed to differ, lot's of android devices are very attractive)
AnDroidDoesn't have 3D games over 100 MB (nope, I'll give you that one)
AnDroidDoesn't have augemented reality apps (yes we do, layar and google sky to name a couple)
AnDroidDoesn't have 45+ million users (give it time ;))
AnDroidDoesn't have a great web browser (The web browser on the hero is as good if not better than the iphone's. [no checkered loading tiles!])
AnDroidDoesn't have onboard memory (there's a little thing called REMOVABLE memory that's even better)
AnDroidDoesn't have support for apps that exceed its minimalistic ROM memory (a little thing called apps 2 SD)
AnDroidDoesn't have iTunes (because iTunes sucks)
"AnDroidDoesn't have what seems to be the best mobile OS" Now that I think about it, all the iPhone OS really is is simply a platform for app icons. It has almost nothing else going on! Android has a notification bar, a customizable home screen, and widgets! I don't think that there is anything that the iPhone's OS can do that android can't, and yet there are TONS of things that android does better than iPhone OS.
does anybody else find the zii egg.... boring? i mean creative claims it can do everything, but i havent seen anything too exciting on video. im not trying to bash it or anything but even the menus are kinda boring.
They should add phone parts to this.
Omg it's nov 2009. iPhone was unveiled Jan of 2007 almost 3 years ago n u still failing at cloning it?creative get a life. Your 3 years late. I root for underdog. But u have been raped n schooled by iPhone n iPod touch for 3 years now. Next. Fail.
Their competing with the iPod touch, not the iPhone. Seeing as how creative invented the MP3 player, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt (but only JUST).

I love the Creative Zii Egg. It's perfect. Upgradeable via SD cards, GPS, WiFi. Yay. Not everyone wants a data plan and a phone. I prefer a nice MID and a cheap pay-go phone that I'm not afraid to drop or have it get wet or whatever.
So far I'm using the wife's castoff iPod Touch gen 2, jailbroken, with Media Monkey (I hate itunes). But I have to be careful about what firmware is on the Touch, and what version of Media Monkey I'm using, etc. I'd love a MID with Android on it that I could load music onto using whatever way I felt like.
I just wish they'd fricking release the thing themselves instead of trying this OEM-manufacturer type route.
