The original Xbox's GPU was made by Nvidia, and how many of those are still going? The Xbox 360's GPU is made by AMD and the RROD and the E74 are both errors that stem from the GPU. The fact is that it never overheats and it doesn't even have dual core like my NVIDIA laptop. I had 2 that melted already and hard drive died all because of lousy NVIDIA. All I am saying they will never ever get me back as long as ATI lives on. ATi built the GPU for the 360 not the 360 itself the errors from the 360 are Microsoft's fault entirely. Its not ATI's fault that the mounting system provides the highest possible stress in a very illogical layout, as well as leaving no support for memory chips whose connections can become weakened due to extreme temperatures. ATI does not control the melting point of solder. <br><br>Maybe Microsoft could have made the case a little more ventilated and passively cooled in addition to its fans. God forbid that make it modable, better stop piraters at the expense of console failure! Oh wait, you CAN mod it anyway! Read an article referencing the cartoons Ben & Jerry's used to attack Pillsbury's Haagen Daz brand which helped open up markets they were shut out of due to similar rebates that Intel is using (which probably are legal even if unsavory, hopefully itll be found that Intel used the rebates in an illegal fashion)<br><br>I wouldn't think itd cost too much to create a few quick cartoon sketches like that.<br><br>I am waitiing to see if AMD can get some traction with this whole Vision Branding idea. They can't buy VIA and use them for the licenses because they won't transfer. They can't make chipsets for new i7/i5 because Intel haven't licensed them.<br><br>They may have better luck focussing on graphics solutions for embedded devices, Tegra and the like. That mean that the Xenos is more advanced than the RSX but that disavantage is aleviated by the usage of the cell in the PS3. I remember reading into a lot of this a while ago and there are advantages to both but they level out.<br><br>Sometimes (as mentioned above) the 360 will perform better because things are optimised for it and then ported to the PS3. There was that big article on frame-rates in GTA:IV measured with some high end equipment and the Xbox 360 came out ahead. I don't believe the PS3 has native anti-aliasing. I also remember in GTA:IV they had some effect turned on for the 360 which actually made the detail look worse, it would look better if it was turned off.
