Best Buy stocking Nokia's Booklet 3G on November 15th
We knew good and well that Nokia's Booklet 3G was coming to Best Buy sometime "during the holidays," and now we've got something a bit more precise to share. Starting now, Reward Zone members can waltz into their local store and place a pre-order, while public availability is pegged for November 15th (though we already know that a select few have 'em in stock). As we'd heard, the 2.76-pound, Atom-powered netbook will be sold for $299.99 with a 2-year AT&T data contract or $599.99 straight-up. Oh, and if you're looking to get your order in early, we'd recommend printing out that image above just so you don't baffle anyone with your otherworldly request.

The Bestbuy in Fullerton, CA has it available now and they have a display you can play with.
The Best-Buy at Spring Meadows in Holland, OH. Has one on display also. I barely even touched it as I walked by, but it felt very solid.
The Best Buy in Towson, MD also has it on display now.
That netbook has great aesthetics!

Yep, defiantly the genius's at Best Buy know everything. When I was in Best Buy yesterday buying my Droid, the person trying to sell it to me at the door (Even though I was going in just to get it) was lecturing me on the "amazing data plans" VZW has........ Where my phone has access to WiFi everywhere in the world..... Its called cellular service genius.
$600?
Yea, waaaaayyy too much green for that.
I'd rather get one of those dell intel atoms 1.6 8.9" for $199, then head over to Deal extreme for those cheap GSM modelms for $30, then hook it up to a prepaid data plan with the right APN.
And if you really want speed then use a cheap 3G prepaid phone tethered.
$6 bills?
um no.
Um, this is already available to buy at all the stores around my area.
Wow! So I can buy a Nokia netbook for ONLY $299 if I simply sign up for a 2-year contract?! That's a great deal considering if I didn't sign a contract I'd have to pay $599!
Wait, what? I can buy a netbook from Acer, Asus, MSI, or even HP for $300 WITHOUT a contact? That can't be, that would mean that AT&T is f**king me, and they wouldn't do that, would they??
Oh, wait, this ISN'T like those others it's got a 3g card built in! That's gotta be worth the extra $300, right?
Yeah, f**k you AT&T. Nokia, you just just broke my heart.
And relax fanboys, yeah I read the specs. Battery life & HDMI don't constitute a $600 price tag. This think should be free with that two year contract you're going to shell out $1,440 for a 2-year data plan. Again, FU AT&T!!
read carefully:
Take poll...out ass...
You can buy a freaking laptop for 500$ but people still want Vaio's and Macbooks. A similarly configured Dell Mini 10 runs at the same price and this one is better built. If this is not your cup of tea, fine but don't rant cluelessly.
Available at the Best Buy Mobile near me. Has been for about two weeks.
Slow Atom floplet with 1gb of memory, that can´t be increased with starter edition of win7.
Price in Finland with VAT is 800€, big discount for US as usual.
You fail to understand VAT (ALV), social security payments at other extra costs of running business in Europe as usual.
yea its already at my best buy in VA
wait, Apple makes a netbook?
wait, Apple makes a computer?
Wait, a fruit can make computers and netbooks?
if you get this without a contract, are you on a month to month basis or just serves as a rewgular laptop?
this is not the netbook for you if you are not going to use mobile broadband with it. you still have to pay month to month you're just not locked in for two years and risk termination fee.
Christian, If you get this without the contract, you use is simply as a laptop. At any time you could get an AT&T SIM card and put it in and use the mobile broadband, but that is not required for use of the laptop. If you buy it at the $599 price, that's all you pay, ever.
Do you even have an idea of what you are writing? I certainly don't.
Not sure where you got that we are apple fanboys, maybe you are the illiterate one.
And no, your comment/argument makes no sense...
wat
correction...only the black one will be availible. i called best buy today and the white/blue ones are not availible for the best buy stores to order. sucks cause i want a white one without the at&t data plan..
OMG my birthday is on that day XD
Most pointless netbook made ever
Given that I am not in the US it would be quite hard for me to be affected by it's policies.
I saw these in stock at the Best Buy in New Orleans last night. Was wondering why I hadn't read about it here yet.

@SlaterGS
"ooooooooooooo Apple makes computers netbooks/laptops!?!?!", right, as if that makes PERFECT LOGICAL SENSE. Don't make such a dumb ass comment like that. I was only saying how much alike the macbook series, dell laptops, and this Nokia netbook look much alike. And if you can't take such a joke, layoff the koolaid you serious ass-hats.
@matt
you probably live within the EU then, same thing now basically, or soon will be. Anyways, this isn't even anything worth arguing or fighting over.
Peace.
wtf were you replying to anyway?
@ BallSackLess
oooo thanks, you made yourself much more clear...

$299 with a 2 year contract. So how much is the monthly data plan? Eh, doesn't matter, whatever it is.
I saw a demo unit at Bestbuy. The build quality is very nice, very solid, unlike most plastic netbooks out there. But then, the pricetag is ridiculous considering it's just an atom based netbook with similar internals like any netbook out there. People looking for netbooks are price conscious. $300 WITH a 2 yr contract is beyond silly. That's almost like zero subsidy. $100 or free makes more sense. Oh well, this simply proves that Nokia is desperate, throwing everything into the wall hoping one would stick.
what ? GPS , Glass Screen , 12 hours battery , uni-body machined aluminum ....all for $300 ? good joke.
@Satz: Did you even read? I said most people that are looking at netbooks are looking to buy it for cheap. GPS, aluminum, glass, etc don't matter. What matters is the price tag, and with other netbooks being sold close to free with wireless contract, the $300 doesn't look that great anymore.
This is obviouly an upscale netbook. Isn't that too difficult to understand? Sure, lots of people will settle for an Acer but this one caters to the ones who wish for a better quality netbook. There are 500$ laptops and there are the Vaio's and Macbooks. End of story. (100$ or free with a 2-year contract... with all this tech, sure. Even a freaking old-gen iPhone costs 100$ with subsidy.)
@WickedEast: Obviously you are the one having the difficulty in understanding the point of netbook and the market. Show me the sales number of the Vaio P. Do you think this is worth Nokia's time? I rather see Nokia doing more Maemo phones then doing this.
Best Buy in Carbondale, IL had one on display... what? Two weeks ago?
No thanx.
I just bought 14" Asus 4 gb ram intel core 2 duo 2.6 ghtz 500gb ram webcam DVD/rw $600.
but was it solid machined aluminum? 12 hr battery life? gps? you're comparing apples to oranges here bud...oh and its asus...seriously...just the name sounds cheap
I just saw one at Best Buy in Palm Desert CA, The build quality is great , very sexy. How do you think it compares to the HP mini 311? I am looking for something small for travel and don't want to spend $1000 on a Mac.
