Revo's retro-styled Heritage radio does DAB, WiFi and casual unboxings
It's fair to say that Revo has never made a "normal" looking radio in its entire life, but hey -- that's a-okay with us. The outfit's latest, which is up for pre-order right now at £229.95 ($382), is easily one of the sleekest, most vintage-looking we've ever seen it produce. The aptly-named Heritage sports a wood and aluminum motif, room for your iPod or iPhone to dock, and support for DAB, FM and WiFi radio signals. There's also an OLED display to keep you informed, support for wireless music streaming from your Mac or PC, a 3-inch neodymium speaker driver, 7-watts of power, a 3.5 millimeter headphone connector and even an iPod video output. Heck, they even throw in a multi-country power adapter as a courtesy to you yearnin' Yanks. Go on and tap that via link if you're interested in an unboxing. [Via Stuff]

Niceeeee!
Not so nice: It only supports the iPhone in flight mode. Major glitch. No thanks.
Not the big deal you make it out to be. Most of my docks don't, and they're fine. My car dock doesn't either and I have no problem using it happily, every day. Even those that claim to support iPhone still aren't GMS "dddddddd"-immune; they're just improved.
Anyhow, this unit is all about the WiFi radio, duh! That's the reason to buy one of their units.
Having an iPod dock is ALWAYS a plus (for charging purposes).
I'm more interested in the similar, and similarly brand-new Revo Domino (contemporary-styled and rubberized).
Ok, it's only about this annoying "This hardware is not compatible" message that Apple introduced to have hardware manufacturers pay them even more license fees (yeah, Apple, squeeze all the money out of the markets you can get, ALL of it!! Even to the detriment of your users...).
Unfortunately you cannot just click away this message, because it is always going to show up again and the Phone is switched on randomly. This is very nice, above all in the middle of the night night.
Ok, there might be one small chance: Isn't there a way to hack this message away? (There is usually no problem at all with interferences, unlike the message says, so a bit of hacking would do the job easily...).
Apple? License fees? Nokia? Seems quite ironic that Apple wants more and more money for license fees. Just sayin'.
Rollo, do you even have an iPhone? This does NOT happen as you say -- EVER.
When you connect an iPhone to an "incompatible" device, you get the nag screen, suggesting you turn on Airplane Mode. You dismiss it, and that's that. It does NOT come back on its own, ever, unless you remove the iPhone and place it back on the dock.
Its' a bit redundant but you can get an apple dock and connect it your through the 3.5mm headphone connector. This will allow you to use all of your features of the iphone.
Enjoy.
Typo, my bad. Scratch the through.
sexy
(but boo for mono output, which will screw up music with an inverted phase side or chorus, etc.)
In the case of being an American, just a DAB in this case, will not do ya'.
The new Revos mostly come in different flavors, do they not: With DAB; With WiFi or With both.
Obviously Americans would avoid the DAB models and get the WiFi models (I think they are usually model "3").
It is not looking good.........
