No need to be jealous. Mine was delivered yesterday from Amazon. To celebrate I took my old 2006 360 out back and put 20 rounds of .223 in it.

Already got mine Monday night/Tuesday morning, and the ebay auction on the Jasper Arcade it's replacing is up to 163.00 and ends in just under an hour. She was a good'n, but I just couldn't say no to that 250 gig HDD.
Ordered mine from Bestbuy yesterday. Just waiting for it to come in the mail. It'll be my first Xbox as well; looks to be worth the cost!

Pick this up yesterday and it's definitely an awesome console especially as a first xbox!
Picked up one Tuesday morning as well. It's a beautiful piece of hardware, and it's nice to have that huge hard drive in there.
Now let's hope it doesn't red ring like my original did!

Not trying to start an argument here, but what happens if you get the RRoD? Will they send you another MW2 Edition console, or just a regular black Elite console?

Most consoles which MS "repairs" just have a new mobo thrown in. So you'd still have the MW2 case, just a refurbished motherboard inside.
If you tell them to repair rather than replace you get your same console back - that's how we handled it. Same serial number when it came home. Anyway, they would have to send you back the same model you sent them anyway.

Wasn't there some night vision goggles with this special edition too? I remember reading something about that here a while back.
This is the console, the NVGs come with the Prestige Edition of the game. The design of the console is slick, much prefer the dark grey over the black to be honest.

I think he means you will want two cuz these are so awesome ;) The new chipsets use smaller manufacturing processes so they do not over heat.
Haha. I did notice that it didn't really get hot and it was also pretty quiet. Contrary to previous complaints I've heard about the 360.
I think the new ones are a lot quieter than the older ones. The one I got back from repair a year ago sounds like a jet engine, despite being in closed (fan-cooled) cabinet. I can't even watch movies with it, have to use the PS3 for that.
The newer one is much quieter. The ROM drive seems to be less quiet, and less buzzing in general when playing off the HD.

My feelings exactly. 3 selling points on this new one since i have an old one:
Mines out of warranty
My 20 gig HDD is full
This one has HDMI for my 42 inch plasma.
Was a PS3 fan till now .....no more
All I care about is the 250GB HDD which I already have and didn't have to pay the premium for the console.
How'd you manage that? Someone Forza 3 bundle buyer in the UK not need their HDD?
Nah, you can do some firmware trickery with some other 3rd party hard drives. I'm not getting into specifics but it's not horribly difficult. Only cost me like 60 bucks to do. If you google around it's pretty easy to find out how to do it.
Aren't MS going to be blocking those tactics with their anti-3rd-party-memory patch?
Pretty sure it applies to custom HDDs as well as unofficial memory cards etc.
You are incorrect. People are running the preview with modified drives and they are still working fine.

I had this preordered, but then I canceled it. I couldn't figure out a reason I really needed, except the hard drive. I'm still on my first 360 I got on release day, and I thought if I bought this it would pull a Jay Cutler and start whining and quit on me.
meh. not too fancy. i expected more to see here. and oh, im a pc user. i finished the game today, single was good enough, but im going back to cod4 for multiplay
And it still does not come with a HDMI cable .....
The funny thing, is you don't pick up this console, Walmart has Mad Catz MW2 controllers to match up with your existing Elite, but they're WIRED. and the PS3 ones are 2.4GHz RF garbage.
are they cheaper because of this? i was planning on getting a new controller for ps3 but i didn't know why they were cheaper than the regular one.

Those come with the game's $150 special edition, not the console.

My friend bought one of these consoles and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with what I've seen of it. The bonus is that it's not very likely to red ring (it is 12 amps indicating it's Jasper)

I need this Xbox 360 in my life.
If MS would just cut the crap and throw a stupid wifi adapter in there I would buy a 360 in a heartbeat. But the fact is I need wifi- my router is downstairs there's just no way around it. Considering my DSLite, PS3, and Wii all run beautifully on wifi out of the box- I don't see why MS doesn't offer this as standard. Oh right- they want to charge me an extra $100 for the privilege.
Maybe they'll get to play online unlike us PS3 gamers who cant!!

It looks ok at best. I like how it comes with the 250 gb hard drive, but who would ever need that much space. Also, in a year when the new cod comes out I wouldnt want a console that has modern warfare 2 on it.

Why is this even a story? Almost anyone who considers themselves an Xbox enthusiast is going to own one by now. And there's not much point to rebuying the same thing again.
I fail to see how a fancy paint job and a marginal hard drive increase merits much fanfare or a premium price.

I don't know. I'm a relatively hardcore gamer but if I wanted my 360 in the living room, I wouldn't want it plastered with 1 games art. Next year when the next COD comes out or the next Halo....what?

As a single mother of 4, and a sucker to have bought them every other game console (2 Wii, 3 PSP, 2 Gameboys, 2 old Xbox etc) I am now thinking of adding to the mix the new Xbox 360 MW2LE. Would it be worth the purchase price, considering it won't run blue ray like the PS3? Are there enough games for my kids (ages 10 - 7)? Are there any potential problems if I connect it to there 60" plasma (burn in, flickering, etc)? Thank you guys...
I must add that the game MW2 will not be given to the kids... The decision to buy this edition would be in consideration of the extras like the controller and the larger hard drive ~ in all it seems worth the extra $100

Thank God/Hackers I can just use the ss.bin from the 250 GB hard drive to make my 250 GB hard drive in my elite right now. Screw limited edition boxes. I doubt M$ will release a 250 GB hard drive. So thanks to newegg I got a 320 GB for 58$ + 5 minutes = 250 GB 360 drive. Compared to the priceless limited edition box you have to buy to get it.
