ViewSonic heats up phone collection, V901 spotted on Microsoft China site

In just one week, ViewSonic has gone from a glint of a 3G phone maker to having two models prominently on display. We've already seen VPC08 Windows XP phone, and now up to bat is the V901, found in the pages of Microsoft China's official site. The Windows Mobile 6.5, apparently TouchWiz-skinned device has a 3.6-inch, 480 x 800 touchscreen, a Marvell PXA310 processor, 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM storage with microSD expansion, 5 megapixel camera, GPS, Bluetooth, all hailing to the wavelengths we call CDMA EV-DO Rev. A. Launch is Q4 2009, so sometime very soon -- but we get the feeling this is China-only, at least for now.
Why is it running TouchWiz?
maybe some weird samsung-viewsonic agreement? samsonic?

@slutty mcnugget, i was saying to myself that this story was the final one on friday the 13th and no jason picture was involved, i was quite dissapointed.
foreign mobile phones cost 2-3 average monthly salaries in China - I still can't understand how local people can buy any of them. of, course there are tons of "entrepreneurs" who have Ferrari for leasure, Porshe to go shopping - those are customers for devices like that ... Oh, wait, they are customers for Vertu also.

Arunas, u should not take what people earn according to statistics as fact. A teacher making 2000rmb has extra incomes by (proprietary) homeschooling kids, a doctor gets kickbacks from a phone company and even the company driver making 1000rmb a month uses the car often to earn a buck as delivery guy. I dont think I know anyone on our average chinese city that earns less than 800USD+ when he/she is 30. And there arent TONS of rich people, if a city of 5 million has a couple porsche and maserati, its probably as many as back in the US.
Boy that phone sure does look like the HTC Imagio.
WinMo on this phone? who in this day and age is going to want that crap.
Better off with Android or iPhone.

I used WinMo from 2003 through 2009. Believe me when I say I will never go near it again.
In the last couple of days, I've played with the latest version of Symbian, and Android. Symbian has some WinMo style inconsistencies and bugs, but is better.
Android, on the other hand, is like leaving the planet of mobile operating systems altogether, and going to a fun happy land where gadgets don't make you swear.
I have limited experience with iPhone, but people I know seem to like it.

That's a Samsung Touchwiz UI running on Samsung's proprietary OS.
Microsoft has absolutely no connection with this phone.
Note the absence of Windows Start button on top or bottom.
