Canada gets International Kindle support, no longer feels inferior to Trinidad and Tobago
Good news for our Canadian brethren! While the realization that you'd been excluded from the International Kindle may have angered you, or frightened you, or engendered feelings of shame or lust, all hope is not lost! We have just got word that Amazon has added your fine nation to the list of countries it will now ship the beloved e-reader to. And if that ain't enough, a smattering of your native content is being offered, included a couple of publications that sound exotic and fanciful to American ears: The Globe and Mail and The National Post. Sound like something you'd like to get into? Yours for $250 USD (roughly $265 CDN). Hit the read link to get started.

$250 USD = $260 CAD at the moment, and was even closer last week FYI.
Bascially, they're at par again.
Somebody horked our clothes!
I'll take two bowls of split-plea soup to go, eh?
I'm your father Luke. Give in to the dark side of the force you knob
Take off, eh?
Fragglerock.... ah I remember loving that show.... for some reason I think it just became a little less popular in Canada. :\
don't care
lol, The National Post, exotic?
They should still feel inferior to both Trinidad & Tobago.
Is that Paul Merton on the right?
Eh ehh? I'm going to steamroller you ehh!
Why do yall Americans diss Canada like that, btw it'll have to be available in French also
Hosers!
aboot time eh?
Bob and Doug must've slid Amazon a jelly. lol
This is one of the best movies another must see is Escanaba in the moonlight.
take off!
My life is complete. O Canada...
Not really, the version of the Kindle sold in Canada has a crippled web browser that basically is limited to accessing Wikipedia. Obviously, Amazon doesn't trust us Canadian's to surf the web responsibly (which I actually take as a compliment). In any case, I won't trust myself to swap 300 Canadian Tire dollars for this piece of crap.
also amazon has a track record of reaching in end users devices without their permission to delete books. I don't want an e-reader with that technology.
yeaaa im from trinidad lol
I AM TOO! Oh yea! . . . Was there over the summer :-)
LOL at the picture.
As a Canadian geek myself, I still prefer a Korean gadget+chic picture than Canadian gadget + "have fun with north guy" picture.
Eh Amazon, that's our Kindle, eh? Hosers.
It is kinda like that Russell Peters bit, he was teasing about India changing the city names after British left. He was saying that he doesn't accept the change of names because it was done 50 years after. If you are not doing the right thing in the first place or in this case getting the same treatment at the same time as others, it is always pointless. Though, I am sure no one will care and will buy these devices. It is not the device's fault. We all have iPhones up here in Canada now just like the rest of the world even though it took more than a year after the initial launch.
true! but aren't we one of the first country where all providers offer the Iphone?
USA: ATT
Canada: Rogers, Fido, Bell, Telus....
@Trickster
True, though one correction: Fido is Rogers. It's just a discount brand like Koodo is to Telus.
All your providers are ours.
Oh Red Green show, how I miss thee
I really hope you don't think that this picture is from the red green show...
*looks again*
crap, SNL, huh?
... either that or strike 2
Guess again.
Dude! SNL?
Maybe you're not Canadian so I can't judge, but if you are... *smack*

I miss Rick Moranis period.
I miss Sid Dithers
SCTV (second city television) is where they started...

Regardless of its relevance to this photo, I miss Red Green too.
That said, SCTV is terrific; the DVD set is one of the best purchases I've made. Also: Strange Brew is one of my favorite movies ever.
I feel bad for the guy... here's some culture
go rent Strange Brew
Actually Dave Thomas was on Red Green along with his brother.
Oh, I wish I was back in old Canada,
A land which I never shall lampoon!
How I pine for the ice covering Lake Manitoba,
And the beauty that is Saskatoon!
Oh, I wish I was stuck in the hills of Alberta,
Drinking beer with some big dumb guy trapping fur!
As he scraped and chiseled all the moose dung off his boots,
I would learn that he's the Prime Minister!
Oh, I wish I was in the land gave us Peter Jennings,
Alanis Morissette, Mike Myers, too!
No, I take that back, I wouldn't go there even if you paid me,
Oh, Canada, you are a place I must eschew!
Whats the deal with the cormac mccarthy pic photoshopped in?
STRANGE BREW! OMG!
Looks like the Canadian version of Wayne's World.
Wayne's World is Canadian in a manner of speaking, based on Mike Myers experience growing up in Scarborough, then a suburb of Toronto, satirizing local cable access shows.
Hey Trinidad has some great food and even better women.
Show some love! lol
Yup! haha we dont need no knidle!!
Hey, Amazon, I found a dead mouse in the box with my Kindle, and I heard that when that happens, you get a free Kindle, so...
brilliant bob and doug tie in!
Read a book the old fashion way people!
Oh come on, thats not how us Canadians look!
Add more beer bottle to the picture and you pretty much have it though.
