Since netbooks are built mainly with the web browser in mind, one'd think that Chromie would do well, especially if it's cheap (cloud-based==no hard drive), light, fast boot, and lasts for a full day. It'd be interesting if and how it can move up the foodchain to regular laptops and desktops.

Anyhow, FWIW, I'm on the same page. I really hope there is very good hardware compatibility. Specifically, my brother is getting one of the AMD netbooks for xmas. The CPU on it is significantly faster than the Atom in all windows benchmarks, but the linux hardware compatibility isn't great. I haven't had the luxury of using an Android phone (not many good ones here in Canada, personally I'm waiting on the Droid), but most people seem to like the OS. Which phone did you test Android on?

People keep comparing iPhone and Andoid phones without seeming to take into account the fact that iPhone has more than 2 years on Android. Give it two more years and Android will overtake iPhone in almost every aspect.
