Just to clarify, Google Navigation does not "do it" for free. Google Navigation gives you the cloud-based software so its a rather different beast to the software that puts the maps on your device. Whether this is important for you depends on what kind of network coverage you see and whether you are travelling internationally. 2) You can listen to music. You start the music first. Then the NAV app. You can "control" your music (pause, skip) from within the NAV app since it has controls for that within the NAV app. Or at least some of them do, and if you read above, this one does. Also, in an iPod touch, it would work because there is a GPS chip in the stand. Remember that for the iPod Touch you've got 2 problems--you don't have GPS (supplied by this cradle though) AND you don't have a cellular data connection. And I have free navigation on my Hero. Sprint Telenav is great. You are, however missing the point. The iPod Touch does not come with a GPS receiver.

Also, why not spread some of the battery consumption around?
