Google Navigation gives you the cloud-based software so its a rather different beast to the software that puts the maps on your device.  Whether this is important for you depends on what kind of network coverage you see and whether you are travelling internationally. It will kick you out of the GPS nav app.  You will have to relaunch the nav app when your call is done.  If you missed an exit or something while you were on the call, too bad for you.  Yes that's a problem.  I'm not sure if this happens if you don't answer the phone or not.<br><br>2) You can listen to music.  You start the music first.  Then the NAV app.  You can "control" your music (pause, skip) from within the NAV app since it has controls for that within the NAV app.  Or at least some of them do, and if you read above, this one does.  So does Navigon.  Not sure about Tom Tom.  Didn't originally. Personally, I want to have the maps on my device so, no, I am not considering Google's service. Google has said only that they're "working with" Apple to get the Google Maps application updated.  Could be some months before that happens.  I could even imagine 6 months.  If you need something sooner, or if you've got an iPod Touch, the Google update won't do anything for you.<br><br>Remember that for the iPod Touch you've got 2 problems--you don't have GPS (supplied by this cradle though) AND you don't have a cellular data connection. Their application is definitely expensive but the car kit is crazily expensive so it's nice to see Magellan bringing an alternative.  I'm pretty sure that other manufacturers are bringing their own solutions so it looks like there ought to be plenty of choice soon. Like that it works with the iPod Touch which for whatever reason Tom Tom couldn't figure out (I'm assuming they didn't pay Apple for the designed for iPod licensing/serial chip). If it has a dock connector I could use this with my FM transmitter in one car, in with the Griffin power+remote thing in the other. As it is I can use neither product with this thing and as such it's a lot less appealing to me.
