I'm fine with Verizon forking up $400 for their smart phones and making that the ETF. so what that ATT pays up the same but charges only half. that's their business. <br><br>but companies claim that the ETF is because of that money, which is essentially a loan we pay back over the course of the contract. but that should mean that the prorate is 1/24th of the amount. at $10 a month if I quit 23 months in I have to pay $120 to Verizon when I have been led to believe that I have paid, via my contract, $335 of the $350 fee. I knew the judge wasn't going to force the ads off as false advertising. Because the ad clearly labels the maps as 3g coverage and the data is correct. those maps are the 3g coverage areas for each service, as stated by each company<br><br>The trouble is that 3g isn't a standardized term. so comparing Verizon's 3g to ATT's 3g is apples and oranges. Verizon's 3g is more at the level of ATT's Edge service. <br><br>Instead of coming off  as insulting cell phone users by making it sound like ATT thinks they are stupid, they should be playing to the assumption of intelligence and giving them the facts. At All.  ATT makes a lot of claims that they could put into a commercial, but the Verizon ad is not ambiguous at all that the maps display the 3G coverage of each network and nothing other than that.<br><br>What's worse is the judge whining about how people watching commercials are catatonic.<br><br>OK... who cares?  I'm daydreaming, so I might think budweiser will give me ten hot girlfriends?  No.  All viewers know that they can't rely on ads without reading the fine print. Verizon's 3G is just as capable as AT&T's in real world testing. In fact, in a lot of locations, AT&T's 3G isn't as fast as it's EDGE theoretical speeds. While AT&T's network is theoretically fast, Verizon's 3G is still very fast, and certainly waaaaaaaay faster than Edge. Only an Apple fanboy could say something like that. How's your iPhone treating you?<br><br>The other advantage of Verizon's 3G is anywhere you have Verizon you have 3G. AT&T's 3G is only available in major metro areas and is quite unreliable from my experience.
