That is simply too much of a feature for Apple to be on wrong side of and remain competitive. They should care more about selling iPhones than apps). It certainly isn't in Apple's interest to let its competitors have an advantage over the iPhone if there is an acceptable option to have the same application on the iPhone. No.  However, since the iPod Touch does not have a GPS chip and therefore needs the TomTom Car Kit in order to get access to one, the answer is almost certainly "yes, the TomTom Car Kit is compatible with the iPod Touch".  The new software would not work on the iPod Touch without it. Are they crazy?  I'd much rather have a DEDICATED GPS then use my phone.  I'd consider the phone GPS as a last resort to the real thing.
